Coaches will coach to win regardless. Matthews at 70% is better then almost everyone on the team. His line is still generating a lot of chances and did again tonight. They were the only line to generate any high danger chances minus the 1 the 4th line got. Who knows what's wrong with him. Back...

Leafs actually played a very good defensive game tonight. Tavares/Nylander had 2 scoring chance the whole game. They gave up 5..XGF%-41% Matthews/Marner/Knies had 8 scoring chances (7 high danger) and gave up 2 scoring chances....XGF%-88% Leafs only gave up 3 high danger chances the whole game...

Special teams was the difference and didn't like the 2nd goal on Stolarz. Other then that the effort was very good. Leafs are going to have to fight through all that interference in the playoffs. Laughton looked a lot better on L2. He'll get there. Carlo looked a lot better which is good.

2-0 in PP goals...that's the diff. AT 5v5.... L1 5 HDCF, 0 against L2, L3, L4 0 HDCF. L1 5 SCF, 2 against. L2 1 SCF, 3 against. L3 0 SCF, 1 against L4 1 SCF, 5 against.

Thing is both were penalties weak or not. Why give the refs any reason to call something? OEL didn't need to do anything there. Dumb play by him and Kampf too.

Domi has never been a hitter. He has 21 hits all year 20th on the Leafs. For perspective, Robertson has 56. Expecting him to dish them out, isn't likely.

Because he's had a horrible year and gets paid 3.75M....lots of cabbage for 4 goals.

At the Marlies game tonight. Minten was ok. Had a nice screen for Provs 2nd goal. He also played mostly on LW. Marlies looked pretty weak up front with Minten and Grebs gone. Oh and Steeves scored again. Beast had a good game as well.

Should be a fun game. Go Leafs Go. Hopefully Stolarz rebounds like Woll did.
