Like a lot of players I would have loved to see what Roy could have done under a different coach. Think he had a lot more to give, but the situation we're in meant some players just had to go. Wonder if they circle back on keeping Laughton now.

Was surprised to see that Maccelli is tied for 1st on the team in 5-on-5 points over the past 20 games with 8 (tied with Matthews and Domi). That probably says a lot more about how everyone is struggling to score (and that we miss Nylander whenever he's hurt) but still nice to see him producing...

That's fair. I definitely think Rielly is trade-able to a degree. I mean if he was on waivers someone like San Jose probably grabs him. The bigger issue is his NMC.

I think the Canucks are such a good fit for Rielly. He's from Vancouver, which might make waiving the NMC easier. The Canucks also just lost Hughes of course and Rielly is like a very, very Temu-version of him. But I think they've got a little bit of rebuilding to do and I dunno if either side...

Weegar's having a down-year offensively (who isn't on Calgary?) but he's still a much better defensive player, both in results and in reputation. So I don't know if that's the best comparison.

I would bet that at one point or another Calgary turned down trade offers for Tanev, Andersson, Weegar from Treliving that were better than what those players were eventually dealt for.
