2023 Blue Jays thread

Kikuchi is going to benefit from the pitch clock.  Not enough time to get into his head.  I'm not expecting all-star production but if he can get into the 4.5 ERA with his strikeout numbers that's going to be pretty elite rotation.
 
The pitch clock is class. Really puts the game into a nice rhythm. The game I watched yesterday last 2 hours 2 minutes as well. That?s perfect.

I hadn?t heard this bit. I presume the pitcher is calling the pitch when he presses his glove? And only having 20 seconds to do so.

Yeah it?s a small device the pitcher is wearing (I?ve seen glove side wrist, or belt) and the catcher has the partner device.

Jays made quick work of STL yesterday!!!!!

I guess if both teams just keep hitting the ball, then games do take longer.
 
Was a fantastically entertaining game. Lots of first game sloppiness, but some good signs. Springer going 5/6 and taking a fantastic catch. Very aggressive base running. Some decent defensive decision making (while still conceding 9 runs?)

A pitcher who doesn't have his stuff will get hit around.  I really wonder if he was tipping his pitches given how hard he was hit.
 
Kikuchi with a nice game yesterday.  At least his pre-season is transitioning well into the reg season.
 
Home runs are for buds.....I can't wait until this advertisement ruins a walk off home run moment
