Long term I think Reimer is still the better choice to be starting, but I am hoping they play Gustavsson.  He was hot and I'm concerned that they may have wasted that streak to rush Reimer back in the NHL to face the Bruins.

But, at the same time, Reimer's career numbers against Carolina are lights out (even if it is only 2 games worth), whereas Gustavsson's are pretty bad (even if it is only 4 games worth).

I'm happy with either goalie, but I admit that I'm curious to see how the Monster has handled some time on the bench.  Playing Reimer does seem like the smarter move, though.

Win or loose, I hope to see them tighten up that PK and their fundamentals in general.  Clean passing, light on the turnovers and dumb penalties, and a not-a-disaster-PK.  I know they can do it because I've seen them play that well several times this year.  They've had a lot of time to practice since the Washington game.  This is a real test for Wilson.

Looks like it's Reimer.

James reimer starts tonight as leafs begin stretch that'll see them play 13 of their next 19 at home.

I think......

Tonight vs. Carolina: Reimer
Friday in Buffalo: Gus
Sat vs. Vancouver: Reimer

Makes most sense.  Reimer needs to get going, his numbers are good vs. Carolina and I don't think throwing him into the Buffalo game (where the Leafs usually have a tough time) is a good idea.

Not that I see a problem (given the posted stats about Reimer doing well), but can we really call Reimer our #1 if we are protecting him from difficult matchups?  Usually your backup is the guy you hand easier opponents to so that you can try and win them, not the games where you are worried about the outcome.

Well I don't think Van is less of a difficult matchup than Buffalo.. he shouldn't play both of those back to backs, but needs to get some games in to get going.

I don't know if throwing Gus in tonight has better odds. He's been sitting a while now and I really don't know if he fares well with the rust factor if he isn't playing a lot.

Its a catch 22 with both goalies... one needs to get going, the other WAS playing better but with too much time passing may be rusty Gus again.

*head explodes*

Remember, Vancouver made it to one game from a Stanley Cup Victory last year.  They're no slouches, either.  Both goalies are getting difficult games this weekend...

Id rather not see skinner in their line up.  :-X

He's expected to miss the game, I've already scratched him no worries!  There's no way Muller can play him now that I've taken him out of the game day lineup.
