The Marlies (1-1) will play three games in three days this weekend. They play the Hamilton Bulldogs (1-0) tonight and tomorrow night at 7:00pm, and on Sunday they play the Grand Rapid Griffins (0-1-0-1) at 3:00pm. The game tonight is not being broadcasted. Saturday's game will be on Sportsnet One, and Sunday's will be on LeafsTV.

The lines have been mixed up a little bit. Tonight's line-up is:

Hamilton ? Aucoin ? Zigomanis
Kadri ? Colborne ? Komarov
Ashton ? McKegg ? Scott
D?Amigo ? Acton ? Deschamps

Gardiner ? Kostka
Fraser ? Holzer
Gysbers ? Blacker

Scrivens

Some notes from Clayton Hansler:

-Greg Scott scored six goals against the Bulldogs last season, plus the game winner during the preseason
-Toronto?s power play operated at a 20.9% efficiency against Hamilton last season
-Ben Scrivens notched a 6-3 record against the Bulldogs with a goals against average of 2.0 last season
-Head coach Dallas Eakins noted that all three Toronto goaltenders may see action this weekend
-This weekend will mark the first of five three-in-three weekends for the Marlies
-Toronto has yet to register an even-strength goal, having scored all three on the powerplay so far

I was wrong about tonight's game not being broadcasted. It's on AHL Live and a stream is available: http://atdhenet.tv/52561/watch-toronto-marlies-vs-hamilton-bulldogs

The first period just wrapped up. Toronto has a 16-6 shot advantage but the Bulldogs scored with less than a minute left in the 1st to give them the 1-0 lead.

2-0 now for the Bulldogs after 2 periods. Hamilton's second goal came after a pretty bad turnover by Kostka at Hamilton's blueline. He tried to keep the play onside all by himself but had two Bulldogs pressuring him and was eventually stripped of the puck. Toronto continues to have a large shot advantage but can't find the back of the net. They'll start the 3rd with the man advantage.

Thank you very much Carlton. I really appreciate the updates. (I'm in China behind the great firewall so I have less than ample resources to get hockey news)

No problem. Marlies ended up losing 4-1 after Hamilton. The Marlies carried the play for the most part, but Hamilton was able to capitalize the few times Toronto was sloppy defensively. The forwards seemed to lack chemistry though, and that was pretty clear as Eakins changed up the lines prior to the game and tinkered with them throughout. It's still early though, I'm sure they'll find a combination that works.

Kenny Ryan makes it 3-0 and chases Hamilton goalie who was doing a
Toskala impression at .500 SV - 3 for 6....

Game in 6 from last nights 5-0 victory over Hamilton: http://video.mapleleafs.nhl.com/videocenter/console?catid=802&id=188608&lang=en.

The Marlies (2-2) will play their 3rd game in 3 days against Grand Rapids (0-2-1) this afternoon. Not a lot of potential NHLers on Grand Rapids, who are Detroit's AHL affiliate. Brendan Smith would probably be the lone candidate, with Tomas Jurco and Tomas Tatar being a couple of their top prospects. Here's the Marlies line-up for todays game:

Hamilton ? Aucoin ? Deschamps
Komarov ? Colborne ? Zigomanis
Kadri ? McKegg ? Scott
Ashton ? Acton ? Ryan

Fraser ? Holzer
Gardiner ? Kostka
Yeo ? Blacker

Rynnas

D'Amigo remains a healthy scratch for the second straight game, while Ranger is out with an undisclosed injury. Rynnas gets his second straight start after shutting out Hamilton.

Puck drop is at 3pm and the game will be on LeafsTV. Here's a potential stream: http://atdhenet.tv/52561/watch-grand-rapids-griffins-vs-toronto-marlies.

Much like last year in the playoffs, that seems like a really strange healthy scratch call.

Last year the media focused on Mueller being close to the NHL and he was scratched, this season the media focused on the progress of D'Amigo who had a great playoff and camp and now he is scratched.

Maybe Mr Eakins doesn't like when his players get too much attention?

Gregg Scott is not a prospect, neither is Will Acton and the same could be said for at least a couple of others there, I don't like when they play ahead of young prospects.

Hopefully Jerry just has a small injury and that's the reason.

Well as much as we'd like the young prospects to play, the team has to also try to win which means putting the best players out there.

I understand that to a point Old Timer, but by most accounts D'Amigo has been one of the best forwards through the playoffs and camp, I think he's far from an impediment to winning.

2-1 Toronto, Komarov and Kostka with the goals, 12:52 2nd Period.

Eakins said he's underperformed this season. And while there's no doubt that his playoffs were very impressive, I don't recall much praise for his training camp. If anything, it looks like he may have bought into his own hype much like at the beginning of his first pro season. Eakins sitting him for a few games could bring him back to Earth. It's not like he won't be playing again this season.

You make a good point about the fact that it might just be a few games.

During the physical testing, quite a few outlets spoke about how well he performed(I believe one of the top players tested), which even produced a feature piece on TSN from Siegel who spoke about how far the player has come.

3-1 Marlies Holzer, Toronto has had a few 5 on 3 chances and listening to the Grand Rapid announcer is pretty funny, he is not happy every time a Griffins player gets called.

I don't put too much stock in the whole fitness testing stuff. It's nice, but it doesn't necessarily always correlate to on-ice success. I mean look at Kadri. All that bad press about his poor testing and I think he's been the best Marlie forward every time I've tuned in.

I meant that there wasn't much praise for his scrimmages and pre-season games. Of course that was a pretty small sample size with only 2 pre-season games.

As for the Siegel piece, it could have easily been written a week after the playoffs. There really wasn't anything new there.

If he spends the whole season in the pressbox, start worrying. But with the amount of players on the team right now, some people are going to have to sit from time to time if they aren't playing up to par. If this acts as a kick to the butt for D'Amigo, then it could be the best move Eakins could have made.

Grand Rapids score on their first 3 attempts while the Marlies couldn't get one. Toronto blows a 3-1 lead and loses 4-3 in a shootout.
