If Mike Richards does get bought out in LA, would you look to bring him in to TO?

I think Richards is better than Bolland. If we can get him for a cheap-ish deal, say like $3.5mil for 2 or 3 years I'd strongly consider it. But I would imagine he'll get more than that somewhere. He would fit that role I was looking for of a two-way centre who can play wing on the 3rd line with Holland.

This is why, he'll cost more than he's worth and probably just continue to get worse.  He wasn't particularly good on a very, very strong team that could shelter him more than probably another team can.  His decline has seemed pretty steep so I'd be concerned about that continuing since he's entering his 30s.

I'm just not sure what he is anymore. On a short term deal like CtB says, yeah absolutely. But someone out there is going to look at him scoring at a 55 point pace last year and think he's still a legit top 6.

Yup - the article says the Jets are interested, and they're the team I'm sure that will pay and expect exactly that.

It might not hurt the Jets that he loves the area and is dating a med school girl who lives there.  Probably a good situation for both if he keeps his money demands in check.

Same. On a cheap, short term deal, I'd consider it, but, if he wants significant dollars or term, it's going to have to be somewhere else. While their system probably has something to do with it, his offence has really just dried up since being traded to LA.
