Random rumours

Bob on Prime Time Sports is reporting Thomas to Islanders.

Apparently it's a cap move for the Islanders to gain Tim's salary.

They couldn't sign a UFA or two and at least have somebody to play and more importantly to not have to give up the pick?  Wow,  UFA's really don't want to play on Long Island.  Maybe Thomas has decided he will play because anything other than that makes no sense.

Ok so now after further reading I get the logistics.  The 2nd round pick is conditional and the Isles only give it up if he plays, which he likely wont.  Due to the fact Thomas isn't playing the Isles take the cap hit and don't have to pay the salary.  The Bruins are relieved of the cap hit as well which benefits them.  Excellent manoeuvring really.

Major Bruins fan at work last week: (upon reading Clowe to Bruins rumours.) - "Now there's a perfect Bruin. - Hard nosed power forward... I don't care how bad he's been this year."

Same guy at work yesterday: (upon reading Clowe to to the Habs or the Leafs.) - "Yeah, he's probably washed up."

::)

Not 100 per cent yet but looks like Nathan Horton will NOT be back with BOS. B's talking trade and Tyler Seguin's name has been discussed.

That's interesting. Why would they entertain a Seguin trade I wonder?

He didn't look particularly good in the playoffs. He's still young though. Kings ransom suggested for Tyler.

He doesn't exactly fit into the mold of what a Bruins player typically is. With that said, Boston would be losing their top-3 right wingers from the playoffs if they traded Seguin (along with letting Horton and Jagr walk). I'm sure they would be receiving a right winger in return if they traded Tyler, but that changes the dynamic of their team completely.

Man, with all these top end players becoming available, surely the Leafs can land a big name or two, and hopefully improve their club for next season.

This off-season is turning into crazy town fast. EVERYBODY IS AVAILABLE!

I mean honestly. Kessel isn't 'Bruins material.' - Not gritty enough. So, let's trade him away for (in part) a draft pick which we use for a another guy who apparently isn't 'Bruins material' either so we can acquire another guy who... er, you know...

Lets go with the crazy.........

How about we flip Bernier in a package for Schneider. Package Reimer for Letang, and sign Horton, LeCavalier and Ference to deals? ;)

It's going to be one of those summers . . . a lot of rumours and, my guess, very little that actually comes to fruition.

i was thinking the same thing...in fact i saw that dreger had tweeted how he was surprised at how little movement there has been already with the amount of talking going on.
