7 attempts and 7 failures to get to .500 now

The news on Devon Travis isn't good either...sounds like 3 months minimum, so probably done for the year or close to it.

The news on Travis is quite sad indeed.  Thought this was going to be his year to shine.

As for last night's Chisox blowout, shouldn't have been surprised Biagini puts up stinkers line these.  When he's good, he's good, but when he's having a bad outing, it's awful. (*sigh*)

Biagini has been a starter for, what, a month? Two? I mean it's kinda silly to pretend he has an m.o. already.

Anyways, that offense continues to smack home runs...and still have trouble scoring. Some speed would certainly help, as would trying to move runners and hit the ball all over the field as opposed to swinging for the fences every pitch. And Pillar leading off has, predictably, become a huge failure once again.

White Sox 5  Blue Jays 2

In Friday's game (11-4 for Chicago), it was the Chisox's Melky Cabrera (a former Jay) who led the offensive rampage.

In yesterday's game (Saturday), it turned out to be White Sox started Mike Pelfrey who limited the Jays to just one hit over six innings of work.  Mike who?  Yeah, Mike, that's who.

On the other end of the spectrum, the Jays own Marcus Stroman who, despite pitching decently over seven innings, was dinged for three Sox homers.  Of course, lack of offensive support did both Stroman & the Jays in.  Add to that some unexpected errors from the usually sharp Josh Donaldson plus that mix up in left field, and that pretty well sums it all up.

Speaking of left field, that position has exchanged hands, er, bodies several times and still remains the Jays 'weak' position, save for Kevin Pillar and his "Superman" catches.

Left field has been a revolving door for the Jays all season, but that?s nothing new.

?Until (Ben) Revere came and (in 2015) kind of solidified it towards the end of the year, it was the same,? Pillar said. ?Last year was no different and this year, whether it was (Steve) Pearce or (Ezequiel) Carrera early in the year, this is how it?s been. It?s kind of been a position where we platoon or somebody has had a injury.?

Better luck for Sunday's series finale.  At least the Jays could avoid a Chisox sweep.

White Sox 3  Blue Jays  7

Russell Martin and Kendrys Morales piled the home runs at crucial points in the game, enabling the Blue Jays to avoid a White Sox series sweep.

Martin's two-run shot in the fifth inning tied the game up, and Morales' monstrous two-run bomb vaulted the Jays ahead in the seventh inning.  Ryan Goins also contributed a triple that sent the score higher in favour of Toronto.

Jays' starter J.A.Happ got the win.
