Not sure if anyone else heard this, but on the radio this morning they said that the nhl will announce a new cba at the draft, and apparently there’s new rules now to not allow loading up on LTIR for the playoffs.
- 84 regular season games
- SPC term limits 7 years for extensions, 6 years for free agents
- playoff salary cap to close LTIR loophole.
- Drafted rights scale by age to free up at 22 yrs old.
- no more deferred contracts
- ‘full-time’ Emergency Backup Goalie (EBUG)
- The next three seasons of the salary cap’s upper limit: $95.5 million, $104 million and $113 million.
Agreed on that, but Peterka also didn't have the luxury of playing beside Marner and Matthews all year.I don't think there's a GM in the league who would take Peterka over Knies though.
This is still a laughable return for the guy but something about Peterka feels a little suspect.
He did have the luxury of playing against teams that weren't trying thoughAgreed on that, but Peterka also didn't have the luxury of playing beside Marner and Matthews all year.
Well there goes the last advantage big market teams had.
Have to close the loop holes for the teams propping up the finances of the league....this exacerbates the advantage of low tax states even further.

I'm pretty surprised how much the players are giving up in this CBA. Lower contract terms, no more deferrals, extended rights on prospects, more regular season games and limits on signing bonuses are all pretty big wins for the owners. Players got... a more relaxed dress code.
Which comes from a guaranteed 50% cut of HRR that neither side would be foolish enough to try to tinker with right now. That doesn't mean they should be rolling over for anything else the owners want. With the cap going up, they probably already feel they are winning.

Which current player would actually listen to Metallica"Here's a few extra bucks and you can wear your Metallica shirt to the rink."
"DEAL!"
Wearing 80s bands tshirts seems to be a thing now. It kinda hurts my soul a bit when I see 15 year olds wearing def leppard shirts and they probably don’t even know that’s a band.Which current player would actually listen to Metallica
The state of FLD has 4 cups...So fucking Leafy that our only advantage gets taken away.Have to close the loop holes for the teams propping up the finances of the league....this exacerbates the advantage of low tax states even further.

Running or ruining? Either way, same answer.Who is running this league?
