I'd probably only be interested in Dustin Jeffrey to fill-in a bottom 6 role if they needed someone.  But that would be pretty lukewarm interest.

Looking at his stats, it looks like he was in and out of a couple different line-ups, but he was given a fair chance.

Anyway, could be interesting if other players come out of this period without a chair, lower expectation on the cap and all.

He's probably no better than some of the guys on the Marlies, and I'd rather give them a shot to prove they can handle an NHL job.

There are definitely Marlies who are probably better defensively and more mobile. I'm not sure about any who are ready with the same offensive talents. I'm not a fan of Franson coming back, though, so I'd certainly be open to finding out.

I was replying this morning when my grandchildren came.  I was writing is basically what bustaheims said:

I think I would give MacWilliam that spot.  I really, REALLY like Aulie but MacWilliam is a better skater which the playoffs show is critical now for defensemen.
