Really is crazy how the thing has stunk all year and nothing changes. Like I said you don’t want to piss off the stars. Ridiculous.
 
If they miss the playoffs this year and aren't looking like a playoff team next year, then maybe Matthews would accept a trade at the deadline and with Matthews gone, Nylander may be open to a trade as well. That's the quickest path to a rebuild I can imagine the organization accepting.

Fire Berube just for the simple fact he won't change it up. Like what are we doing here? Like they just pointed out with how they used Domi on PP2, why don't they use Matthews like that? Baffling.

I would have already started it and see if they can tank. I’ve said this before you have McKenna possibly and year after probably DuPont. Stud center and D man there’s the rebuild. Not sure how first round picks work when you defer it to the following year but if we can snag both of them I’m in. Plus you recoup something good for 34 before it’s too late. I know that won’t happen because as bad as we look we are in the thick of things to even win the division but plain and simple this team isn’t going to do much so why wait?

I said Matthews only cause his contract is a lot shorter. And they would fire Berube long before they miss this year's playoffs and are on pace to miss next year's, so I'm assuming a coaching change doesn't turn things around.

They don't have first rounds picks this year and next, so they won't tank. I figure the earliest they'll pull a rebuild trigger is so they can tank in 2028. They'll pray for a miracle this year and next.

Are the picks not protected? I don’t know how things work when you default a pick to the following year. If they are both protected how does that work if you pick in the top 5 of the draft?
