Interesting condition on that: Should the Maple Leafs earn a playoff berth and Maccelli records at least 51 points in 2025-26, the pick will be converted to a second-round selection in 2029.

Definitely doesn't feel like a Treliving kind of player but if he rebounds in the 40-50 point player (particularly playing with a Matthews/Nylander) a 3rd round pick seems good and even a 2nd round pick if he is a 50+ point player seems like good value.

11+ million in cap space left with 10 forwards now.

I was looking at him a few months ago in a replace Marner in the aggregate idea.

Very happy with the deal, at worst I think Robertson-Domi-Macceli would be a hilariously fun all offense third line.

Can't argue with the acquisition cost. Not exactly the type of player I wanted for the bottom six. Really regressed last season. Could be a good bounce back/change of scenery candidate or a waste of $3m. Don't love the move.
