A strong showing in this one, and especially a win, would indicate to me a team on the rise.  Another clunker OTOH would really undercut any optimism I allowed myself during the winning streak.

The Jets never really scare me for some reason. The Leafs are the better team and should be able to come away with the win.

Looking forward to the great atmosphere in Winnipeg too. I know some people hate to see fans have fun at hockey games, with such sacrilege as booing the other teams top players and chanting the name of the opposing goalie, but I always find it makes for a much more engaging television broadcast.

Going to be at the game tonight representing the Leafs with my cousin who is a Leafs fan, the gf wanted to come to the game but she is a Jets fan haha

Reimer starting in net has me happy already, after the game I get a few hours rest before flying to Toronto for a few days. Going to be a good next few days, Leafs!!!

these Winnipeg games are always tough for me. Two of my favourite NON Leaf players are in Winnipeg --Bryan Little and Mark Scheifele-- so I find myself wanting them to do well (Little is the points and +/- leader on  the team :) )

I guess it's "Go Bryan!" and "Go Mark!" but Yay when the Bud Light goes off?..

Like Lupul said, if the Leafs want to be able to put games like Dallas behind them, they have to be ready to play tonight.

Mark Masters ‏@markhmasters 13m
Frazer McLaren, Mark Fraser & Jonathan Bernier only Leafs skating this morning in Winnipeg; none of the three expected to play tonight

Mark Masters ‏@markhmasters 11m
Fact Ranger isn't on the ice is intriguing as usually healthy scratches take the optional skate; Paul has sat out last nine games

Mark Masters ‏@markhmasters 10m
Carlyle said yesterday that after a bad loss like the one in Dallas it makes a coach think long & hard about tweaking lineup

So it sounds like Ranger might come in.

I feel this will be a win for the Leafs.  But I'm just basing that on the depth of the upcoming draft and the Leafs flair for doing just well enough to miss on any blue-chip prospect.

In place of Reilly you think?  I think it may be fitting to see Franson come out to get a glimpse of post trade deadline life on the Leaf blue line. Bump Gardiner up to the 2nd pairing and Ranger-Reilly on the third.

I'd add that they have to give it 110% and leave it all out on the ice.

They also have to take it one day at a time. It's a marathon, not a sprint. They can't get too far ahead of themselves.

Just once I'd like to hear an athlete say that they will give 109% just to see the look on the reporters face, wondering why he's not going to give the full, 110%.

We will see which team shows up tonight. Given the Jets' recent success (loss to SJ aside), I am hesitant to predict a Leaf win.

lol Fine.

Like Lupul said, if the Leafs want to be able to put games like Dallas behind them, they have to be ready to play tonight prove that 7-1 losses aren't the norm by, you know, actually winning fairly often, and maybe not losing so badly.

Fixed that for myself.

Nobody who played for the Leafs in Maurice's last season here (07-08) is still on the roster. Not surprising of course, but I wonder how many NHL teams have no one left from 07-08.

And they have a 47.4% chance of making the playoffs.  Another Dallas and it might be over.  If they lose 14 games, I think their odds have been calculate at about 2.4% chance.
