Too bad they didn't do that in game 1 though. Jays won't play them again this season (barring a playoff rematch)hockeyfan1 said:Actually, Beltre held Jose practically out of harm's way.
Guess these Texas Rangers haven't forgiven or forgotten. If that's how Matt Bush & co. want it, then fine. Just don't expect the Jays to keep lame about it. As Jose demonstrated, they won't.

Well that's exactly why they did it when they did. Gutless to say the least. If they wanted to apply the 'code' this should have happened in their first meeting. Instead they get an ex-con pitcher to do it and then get their knickers in a knot when Bautista takes offence

I agree that the slide was illegal and warranted a suspension, but people acting like all of a sudden it's such a heinous violation of the spirit of baseball just makes me laugh. A few months ago that slide was not only perfectly legal but also encouraged.
Ah well. Gutless Rangers are gutless. Moving on.

Just like a hockey player egging the crowd on after a fight. I think it's low brow especially from a manager and thought it could justify a suspension as well.
